Neighbors review by Teejay McFly.

Plot: Seth Rogen, Zac Efron and Rose Byrne lead the cast of Neighbors, a comedy about a young couple suffering from arrested development who are forced to live next to a fraternity house after the birth of their newborn baby. Neighbors is directed by Nick Stoller (Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Get Him to the Greek).
Review: Neighbors was definitely a good movie. Was i expecting it to be funnier? Yes. Am i fine with the finished product? Of course. Honestly this was the first time i ever watched a full movie with Zac Efron in it. This movie will do to him, what 21 Jump Street did for Channing Tatum. Seth Rogen did his thing as usual as the guy with the newborn baby living next door to a fraternity. The two actors have surprisingly great chemistry together, especially when the two characters bond when they first meet. A great scene is where they talk about two generations of Batman(Michael Keaton and Christian Bale).
The movie starts out with a couple(Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne) learning how to balance having fun, and taking care of their newborn baby. They even consider bringing the baby to a rave before passing out at their own front door. The following morning a fraternity(led by Zac Efron and Dave Franco) moves in right next door. That is when we have the beginning of what seems to be a great friendship between neighbors, turn into an all out war. Flooded basements, houses getting trashed, stealing air bags from cars, you name it. The pranks are very funny in this movie. One scene that was hilarious was when Seth Rogen had to milk Rose Byrne. Yea, im just going to leave it at that.

Seth Rogen does a great job in this movie. He pretty much plays the Seth Rogen we all love. Reminds me of the scene in This Is The End where the reporter tells him he plays the same guy in every movie. Zac Efron definitely surpassed my expectations in Neighbors. Maybe he might branch off into more comedies. It seems that any time an actor who isn’t known for comedies(Efron, Channing Tatum), teams up with a member of the Apatow crew(Rogen, Jonah Hill), you get magic. The dance off they have in the party is pretty well shot also. Dave Franco is definitely one of my favorite up and coming actors. He also does a great job in this movie just like he did in 21 Jump Street. Am i the only one that thinks of his brother James Franco every time he talks? Franco’s character also has a hilarious special power in this movie, but i’ll let you guys find out what exactly that is when you watch it. His Robert De Niro impression at the Robert De Niro party the frat throws is amazingly funny. Rose Byrne carries her weight by playing Rogen’s wife. Her accent by the way, smoking hot. Wait, i think she’s pretty hot in general. Oh yea, for the ladies, we also get tons of shots with Efron(and Rogen) shirtless.
At the end of the day this movie can relate to anybody. Whether you are growing old and starting a family, or in the prime of your partying years, you will enjoy it. I believe it will be one of the top comedies of the year. A brilliant cast and a great story, id recommend this to anybody. I give Neighbors a solid 8/10.
