Paramount Pictures and Jerry Bruckheimer have reportedly signed a three-year first-look deal. This includes upcoming sequels to Top Gun and Beverly Hills Cop. It’s about time Bruckheimer cuts off his deal with Disney(minus the Pirates deal of course). He will now be able to make the movies he wants rather than abide to Disney’s strict PG to borderline PG-13 rule. Top Gun is still one of my favorite movies to date. Tom Cruise has even expressed interest to return as Maverick. With Beverly Hills Cop, the original starring Eddie Murphy, i can also see being successful. Brett Ratner will direct the upcoming reboot. But if it’s any indication, the film was pitched as a series starring Brandon T. Jackson and was NOT picked up. Hopefully that isn’t a bad sign for the Beverly Hills Cop franchise.
