Disney gets full rights to Indiana Jones.

Here’s something we all saw coming. Back when Disney bought Lucasfilms, everybody only thought Star Wars. If you were like me, you knew Indiana Jones came in that package too. Also the rumor has been that Harrison Ford only agreed to star in the new Star Wars films IF another Indiana Jones will be made. Seems like he finally got his wish. Deadline has reported that Disney and Paramount has reached a deal:

The new deal gives Disney marketing and distribution rights to future films as well as retaining its LucasFilms ownership rights. Paramount, on the other hand, will continue to have distribution rights to the first four Indiana films. The studio will also receive a financial rewards on any future films that are produced and released by Disney.

Let’s admit that the last Indiana Jones sucked big time. Even to the point of South Park making fun of it. Let’s wish Dr. Jones can make the REAL return we’ve been waiting for.
